Additional Costs

Transparent
not included in practice fees

We believe in full transparency. These are billed independently, and we help you find the most affordable option.

  • Lab work — Rupa Health cash-pay ($150–250 typical) or your insurance
  • Medications & pharmacy costs (insurance often covers)
  • Imaging (CAC scan, ultrasound) — may use insurance
How it works: Most patients start with the $175 initial evaluation to review symptoms, goals, and appropriate lab testing — then decide whether ongoing membership is right for them. There is no obligation to continue after your initial visit. Labs can be run through Rupa Health (cash-pay, typically $150–250 for a comprehensive panel) or your insurance, whichever is more affordable for you. Medications and supplements are billed separately. Our practice fees are cash-pay only and are not billed to insurance.

Common Questions About Cost & Membership

The honest answers to what people most often wonder before booking.

Why don't you take insurance?

Insurance reimbursement rewards short, high-volume visits — the opposite of what good hormone and metabolic care requires. By staying cash-pay, we can offer 60-minute visits, order the labs that actually matter for your situation, and answer your messages directly, without an insurer dictating your care. You're not paying for a quicker prescription; you're paying for time, attention, and a provider who looks for the cause. For many people, the cost is comparable to a few insurance copays once you account for the depth of care.

Is the $135/month membership worth it?

The membership is for people who want ongoing partnership, not a once-a-year checkup. It covers continuous prescription management, direct secure messaging with your nurse practitioner, regular lab tracking, and follow-up visits as needed. If your situation is stable and simple, you may not need it — and we'll tell you so honestly. It's there for the people whose care genuinely benefits from steady, attentive follow-through, not as something everyone is pushed into.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. There are no long-term contracts. Monthly membership can be cancelled anytime with 30 days' written notice. The relationship continues because it's working for you, not because you're trapped in it.

What if I just want the evaluation and nothing more?

That's completely fine, and it's how most people start. The $175 initial evaluation stands on its own — two visits, a thorough workup, and a clear plan. There is no obligation to continue with membership afterward. Some people take that plan and run with it independently; others choose ongoing care. The choice is genuinely yours.

Why are labs billed separately?

Because it keeps your costs honest and flexible. Rather than bundling a marked-up lab fee into the practice price, we let you run labs through Rupa Health at cash-pay rates (typically $150–250 for a comprehensive panel) or through your own insurance — whichever is cheaper for your specific situation. We help you decide. You only pay for the testing you actually need.

Can my insurance still help with anything?

Often, yes — just not for the practice fees themselves. Many patients run their lab work and fill their prescriptions through their insurance benefits, which can significantly reduce those separate costs. Imaging like a CAC scan may also be covered. We're glad to help you use your insurance where it genuinely saves you money.
